I agree 100%! One reason for spinoffs is the appeal for built-in fans over brand spanking new ones. Also, there is a lot less time consumed in “world building” of an established and well tested place/character/goal so it can be done faster, and cost less. I don’t love it. A concept that I think works well with using an established concept or feeling/style is Fargo and True Detective where the branding is the same but the storylines and characters are totally different.
